In September – October, 2018 annual affairs devoted to preventive measures against suicide were conducted at the premises of MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin. All the events were devoted to valuable attitude of young people to their own life and life around them.

On September 20, 2018 training “Lies and truth about suicide” was conducted at the premises of the center for ideology. The main objective of the affair was to form confidence of the students and their positive attitude to life.

On October 01 – 05, 2018 MSPU students participated in the social campaign “We vote for life!” and “Life is beautiful” held at the premises of Student Dormitory No. 1 and No. 2.

ORIENTEERING

On October 10, 2018 MSPU orienteering competition was held in the urban forest “Molodezhny”. Bachelor degree students majoring in Physical Education became the winners of the competition; trainers: Ivan Maslo, Head of the Chair for Theory and Methodology of Physical Education, and Vasily Budkovsky, Deputy dean for Sport Affairs.

The competition was arranged at a higher level and in a positive environment. Students from all the departments participated in the competition; some of them participated in such a competition for the first time. The winners were awarded with diplomas and medals.

STATE YOUTH PROJECT “LET’S DO IT”

As a part of the State volunteer project “Let’s do it” student teams were arranged at the university. Thus MSPU students decided to dignify the dormitories, clean up the territory near the dormitory, paint the walls and tidy up the kitchens.

VALUES OF YOUNG PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE EPOCH OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES

At the end of September2018 – beginning of October 2018 students from Preschool and Elementary Education, Technology and Biology Department studied the information presented at the billboards prepared as a part of the exhibition “Values of young people who live in the epoch of IT”. The exhibition was arranged by MSPU Center for Social and Teaching Support together with their colleagues from the church.

The main objectives of the exhibition are the following ones:

- to create positive environment at educational establishments, because it will promote better psychological health of students and teachers;

- to change the attitude of people to their own health;

- to form multiagency approaches to prevent people from suicide.

Preventive measures from suicide are known as a collection of affairs which is kept under a special attention of the governmental authorities of the Republic of Belarus. It bears multiagency character and is treated as a part of enhancement campaign to promote demographic security of the State. The research has shown that the majority of people who committed suicide were under the pressure of deadaptation, family conflicts and ill-being, fear for violence, non-success in life, health problems.

TALENT PIPELINE OF MSPU NAMED AFTER I.P.SHAMYAKIN

On October 09, 2018 University administration conducted a meeting devoted to the talent pipeline of Gomel region. With the aim to find those students and provide the local authorities with the names a special contest was arrange. The contest involved several stages: Stage 1 – announcement of the contest, Stage 2 – individual interviews.

According to the decision of a specialized commission the following students were included into the talent pipeline: Yulia Kudlach (Philology Department), Marina Zhuk (Physics and Engineering Department), Maria Rakovshchik (Technology and Biology Department), Vladislav Mitsura (Physical Education Department), Irina Zayats (Technology and Biology Department), Tatsiana Kiselevich (Department for Preschool and Elementary Education).
