GOMEL REGION KETTLEBELL LIFTING CHAMPIONSHIP

On November 10, 2018 Gomel region kettlebell lifting championship was held in Gomel. Students from Physical Education Department (MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin) participated in the competition.

The spirit of competition was great, however, it wasn’t treated as an obstacle for our kettlebell lifters. For this reason Mozyr team got the 1^st prize. It is also necessary to say that the results were so high because the students got an intensive training under the assistance of the team coach – Vitaly Metlushko.

RECTOR OF MSPU NAMED AFTER I.P.SHAMYAKIN

It is a great honour to say that Alexander Lukashenko, the President of the Republic of Belarus, announced a new Rector of Educational Establishment “Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P.Shamyakin”. From November 2018 the University will be led by Valery Navnyko, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor.

University stuff members express their deepest gratitude to Valery Navnyko and believe that his experience, professional competence and self-starter will open new horizons!

PREVENTIVE MEASURES CAMPAIGN: HOW TO PROTECT STUDENTS FROM DOWNTURNS

On November 13, 2018 awareness-raising workshop “Preventive measures campaign: how to protect students from downturns” was conducted at the premises of Center of Ideology, MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin; focus group: curators of students’ groups.

The main objective of the campaign was to form personal background of curators who would be capable to solve downturn problems of students. Deputy deans for educational affairs, representatives of student social support centers, members of psychoneurologic dispensary and youth liaison service (Mozyr District Office of Internal Affairs) were invited to attend the workshop.

On October 27, 2018 Research to Practice School Children Conference for Natural-Science and Socio-Humanitarian Disciplines “POISK (SEARCH)” was held at the premises of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. Marina Kravchenko, 9^th form pupil, Secondary School No.9, got the Diploma of 3^rd Grade. Research project “Specific heat of fusion and its calculation” was conducted under the assistance of Elena Melchenko, Master’s Degree Student of MSPU named after I.P. Shamyakin, with close cooperation of Tatsiana Nikolaevna, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR – 2018: REGIONAL STAGE OF THE CONTEST

On November 08, 2018 regional stage of the State Contest “Student of the year - 2018” was held. 6 bachelor degree students from 6 universities of Gomel region participated in the contest. Anna Polyn, Physics and Engineering Department, represented our University. All the participants showed their talents in art, academic affairs and leadership. “My small motherland” became the most prominent contest among the others.
