MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin is a leading pedagogical University in the Republic of Belarus. It’s a recognized educational, scientific and cultural center in the Belarusian Polessie.
MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin fulfills its educational, intellectual, cultural and social mission aimed at satisfying the needs and interests of modern society and state in highly qualified teachers who are capable for intellectual and spiritual development, teachers who can combine such personal qualities as professional competence, high level of general culture, active civic position and social accountability.
To perform this great mission the University administration defined the following objectives:
- Sustainable development of the University public image in the sphere of higher education;
- High level of quality specialization training;
- Supply of essential academic maintenance;
- Quality development of manpower resources;
- Execution of international cooperation in the field of higher education, science and culture.
The core of our University is a union made up of gifted students, talented post-graduates, distinguished PhD students, outstanding academic staff, famous researchers and experienced academicians who carry out their activities in compliance with the classical traditions of the pedagogical university taking into account the principles of free academic teaching, researching and disseminating knowledge.
Today MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin is a dynamically developing establishment which has all sufficient conditions for effective education and profitable research. Newly opened bachelor and master’s degree programmes are available for training in a wide range of academic fields. There are 6 Departments at MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin today. 13 chairs are responsible for the educational process at the University. We offer well-equipped lecture halls, laboratories and workrooms, computer labs, gyms and well-furnished hostels.
MSPU academic staff focus much attention on the major fields of concern i.e. improvement of education content, organization of brining-up process, publishing author's series of lectures, implementation of contemporary educational techniques into the education process (modular training, distance learning, performance appraisal rating system, etc.).
Science – and - research activities and educational process comprise a unified complex. The students of our University are involved into the scientific life of the institution by means of various forms of team and individual work. More than 70% of students’ research projects are obtained diplomas of Higher education.
Annually enormous conferences are arranged at MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin. Representatives from Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine, Germany, Spain, China, Austria take part in science-to-research conferences, academic forums, students’ festivals.
Nowadays close-knit academic staff of the University demonstrates high creative potential, civic and political matureness and willingness to solve social, economic, educational, scientific and cultural tasks.
MSPU today is a modern educational and scientific center with deeply rooted traditions. Its highly qualified staff, considerable scientific and methodological potential, advanced laboratories and research centers are the key to successful development and enhancement of future teachers’ individuality.
