Symbols of MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin

University Emblem

Emblem of the University represents a four cornered turquoise blue coat of arms. A striving ahead stork is located in the center of an open book. The book is surrounded by a light-blue ellipsis. At the top of the emblem there is a branch of the laurel, at the bottom there is a title of the University (MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin).

Elements of the composition

Book is a symbol of Higher education used in the European and South-American armory. It symbolizes enlightenment, science, education and knowledge.

White (light-blue) stork emblematizes awareness, longevity, wisdom and honor. Partially opened wings of an aerial stork are a sign of social ambitions. The stork is believed to be a symbol of the Polesye; it reflects the spirit of the nation and the regional location of the University.

Ellipsis (egg) is a symbol of a new life and hope. On the other hand, it’s a figure of the earth and atmosphere around, symbol of data streams, inner and outer intercourses.

Golden eight pointed star (wind rose) emblematizes promptitude, motivation, effort and forwardness.

Branch of the laurel means inviolability of traditions, infrangible glory and grandeur of victory.

Colours

Sky-blue signifies beauty, grandeur, spirituality, progression, dream and high standards.

Gold symbolizes truth, mercy, humility and also wealth, grandeur and independency.

Silver (white) is armorial metal; symbol of faith, innocence, sincerity, nobility, frankness and mutual understanding.

Black is a symbol of accomplishment, prudence, consistency and persistence.
