INFORMATIONAL AND PREVENTIVE MEETING “SAFETY - SPECIAL ATTENTION”

On January 29, 2025 on the basis of the University was held informational and preventive meeting with the Deputy Head of Mozyr GROCHS Strelchenya Vladimir Viktorovich.

During the meeting V.V. Strelchenya touched upon the problematic issues of life safety of the population, prevention of emergencies in everyday life. During his speech Vladimir Viktorovich made a presentation of the mobile application “EMERCOM of Belarus: Help Nearby”, told about its capabilities. Particular attention was paid to the algorithm of actions in case of fire and the principle of using primary fire extinguishing means, the necessity to install the API.

BELARUSIAN SCIENCE DAY

On 30 January a solemn meeting dedicated to the Day of Belarusian Science was held. Numerous guests of the university gathered to congratulate the university staff and celebrate the scientific achievements of the scientists for 2024.

In his welcoming speech the rector of the university Valery Navnyko noted that the scientists of our university make a significant contribution to the improvement of the innovation sphere of the republic, the city and the district and handed over the deserved awards.

On the 30th of January 2025, Ivan Petrovich Shamyakin celebrated his 104th birthday.

Since 2006 Mozyr State Pedagogical University proudly bears the name of Ivan Petrovich Shamyakin, the People's Writer of Belarus, the winner of the State and Literary Prizes of the USSR and the Republic of Belarus, the Honourable Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the classic of the national literature.

The People's Writer of Belarus was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labour (1981); he was a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the BSSR (1963-1985, 1980-1989) and Chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the BSSR (1971-1985), editor-in-chief of the publishing house ‘Belarusian Soviet Encyclopedia’ (1980-1992).

I.P. Shamyakin's creative work was internationally recognised. The humanistic pathos of his works, the masterly portrayal of the exploits of the Belarusian people in peacetime and during the Great Patriotic War, the writer's concern for humanity touch the hearts of representatives of different nationalities and epochs.

On 28 January the delegation of Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakin headed by the rector of the university V.N. Navnyko took part in the solemn event dedicated to the Day of Belarusian Science. The meeting was organised by the Gomel Regional Organisation of the Belarusian Professional Union of Workers of Education and Science and the Main Department of Education of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee.

R.I. Smirnov, Head of the Main Department of Education of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, welcomed the invitees.
