September is an important month for the citizens of Mozyr. Birthday is traditionally one of the most favourite holidays for citizens and guests of the city. This year has a special significance. In July, Mozyr district celebrated its 100th anniversary. Mozyr district keeps and develops the best traditions for many centuries, making our region a place for a happy life.
Freshers learned about the prospects that are open to them during their studies, the wide opportunities to engage not only in academic, but also in scientific and creative activities, to participate in the volunteer movement. Demonstrated applications to diploma theses, creative works impressed those present and inspired them to create their own original projects.
An excursion was organised for the group 1/2 “Service work and fine arts” to the training workshops, laboratories of the Department of Technological Education Methodology in order to get acquainted with the direction of scientific work, clubs, scientific achievements of the department. First-year students learnt about the laboratory of sewing production technology, where students master the technology and equipment of sewing production.
The first-year students of Philology Department got acquainted with the wide opportunities in acquiring skills of research work within the framework of the activities of the circles and laboratories of the Faculty, such as SNIC “Antiquity” (scientific supervisor - candidate of historical sciences, associate professor, head of History and Social Sciences Department Telepen S.V.), SNIC “Russian Literature in the context of world and national culture” (scientific supervisor - candidate of philological sciences, associate professor, head of Russian and Belarusian Philology Department Chechko T. N. N.), SNIL ‘Courage’ (supervisor - Associate Professor, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of History and Social Sciences Department Barsuk E.E.), SNIL “Neological Processes in Language” (supervisor - Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor of Russian and Belarusian Philology Department Kurash S. B.), SNIL “Lingua” (scientific supervisor - Associate Professor, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Foreign Language Teaching Methods T.N. Taletskaya).
The presentation of the activities of military-patriotic clubs took place in Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P.Shamyakin, head of the military-patriotic club ‘Rubezh’, presented the club's activities, told about the opportunities provided to the club members, as well as about the victories and achievements of the club members.
The head of the military-industrial complex ‘Vityaz’ Muzychenko M.N. familiarised the first-year students with the work of the club, demonstrated the uniforms of the club members, as well as the moulages with which the classes are held. At the end of the meeting all the students wrote applications to join the clubs of military-patriotic orientation.
On September 5, 2024, Roman Marusik, Senior Inspector for Special Assignments of the Department of Internal Affairs of Gomel Regional Executive Committee, and Tatyana Lapitskaya, Head of the Department for External Labour Migration of Refugees and Asylum, met with foreign students of Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakin to carry out preventive measures to control the stay of foreign citizens and stateless persons, to explain the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Belarus and to prevent them from committing illegal acts. The students were also explained employment issues.
