On the Edge of Traditions and Innovations: In Search of Methodological Truths

On April 16, 2026, the annual seminar "Traditions and Innovations in Modern Foreign Language Education" with international participation was held at Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakin. Organized by the Chair of Foreign Languages and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages, the seminar was dedicated to methodological reflection and the search for original solutions in teaching foreign languages.

Among the invited guests – as part of the implementation of a program supporting graduates and facilitating their professional development – were young specialists: Anastasia Vyacheslavovna Tsapova ("Secondary School No. 26 in Gomel"), Elizaveta Igorevna Los ("Telushi Secondary School of Bobruisk District"), Victoria Ivanovna Kovalevich ("Secondary School No. 13 in Mozyr"), Natalya Alexandrovna Sitetskaya ("Secondary School No. 4 in Kalinkovichi"), and Lilia Suleymanovna Rasulova ("Gymnasium of Korma Town named after N.A. Students of Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakin Worthy Represented the University at the Mozyr District Arm Wrestling Championship

From April 13 to 14, 2026, the district arm wrestling championship took place in Mozyr. The strongest athletes from the city and district took part in the competition, including the team of the educational institution "Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakin."

Our students demonstrated a high level of preparation, winning a total of seven medals: three gold, two silver, and two bronze. These achievements attest to their serious training and determination to win.

We congratulate them on their successful performance and wish them further athletic victories, new records, and the conquering of any peak!

Seminar "The Scientific Path: Making Complex Things Simple"

On April 15, 2026, the Faculty of Preschool and Primary Education hosted a seminar titled "The Scientific Path: Making Complex Things Simple" featuring Natalya Sergeevna Stasilovich, Associate Professor of the Chair of Psychology and Social Pedagogy. The event took place as part of Youth Science Week – an important initiative aimed at developing students' research skills and promoting science among young people.

During the seminar, participants examined issues related to the education system of the Republic of Belarus as a whole, with a particular focus on the stages of higher education. Topics concerning the writing and formatting of student research papers (term papers, theses, articles for scientific-practical conferences) remain highly relevant. Students involved in research work under the guidance of faculty members, present at scientific conferences, and create visual presentations and poster reports. These forms of work not only help deepen knowledge but also prepare students for their future professional careers, as well as enhance their competitiveness when applying for master's or doctoral programs.

SCIENCE AT SCHOOL

On April 15, 2026, as part of the Youth Science Week, a meeting was held at the Department of Biology and Chemistry with 11th-grade students from the schools of Kalinkovichi and Mozyr.

The guests immersed themselves in the world of science by listening to research presentations delivered by 4th-year students. The schoolchildren tried their hand at being biologists by examining biological slides under a microscope, and also became novice chemists for a while by conducting laboratory experiments. A tour of the classrooms allowed them to feel like real students.

The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
