RESEARCH IS A BEGINNING OF A PROFESSIONAL START-UP

On October 24, 2018 representatives of Scientific school “Holography in photorefractive crystals” conducted a warm and aspirational meeting under the motto “Research is a beginning of a professional start-up”.

Inessa Kovalchuk, Dean of Physics and Engineering Department, PhD in Pedagogics, Docent, opened the meeting. She said that it would be difficult to overestimate any professional start-up. The main objective of the meeting was to involve the students into science and research activities.

Vasily Shepelevich, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics Sciences, Professor, Head of the scientific school “Holography in photorefractive crystals”, head of the chair of Theoretical Physics and Applied Informatics, told the students about his first steps in research and about the main approaches to formation of scientific schools and involvement of students into research activities. Vasily Shepelevich was so amazed and showed the guests some experiments. It must be stated that under the auspices of Vasily Shepelevich 10 thesis researches in Physics and Mathematics were defended.

Among the lecturers we could see Nikolay Egorov, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Alexander Golub, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Alexander Makarevich, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Valentina DAvydovskaya, PhD in Physics and Mathematics.

All the lecturers shared their experience on how to conduct a research and who gave them advice to start career in investigation.

Eduard Grechannikov, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Head of the Sector for Research, summed up the ideas and added some information regarding the grants and projects available for students and implementation of the projects.
