On March 25, 2016 Research and methodology seminar-workshop “Professional competency development of Physics teachers in preparation for centralized testing” was held at the premises of General Physics and Teaching Methodology Chair; teachers of Physics and Astronomy from Mozyr and Mozyr district were invited.

The main objective was to establish succession and effective cooperation among educational institutions in the sphere of research, methodology and career guidance activity.

Vladimir Savenko, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of General Physics and Teaching Methodology Chair, opened the meeting.

Leonid Bulavko, Resource specialist, Department of Education, Sport and Tourism, Mozyr Executive Committee, reported on “Enhancement of professional competence of Physics teachers as a factor of education quality improvement”.

Zhanna Ravutskaya, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Chair of General Physics and Teaching Methodology, reported on “Centralized testing: some aspects of training”.

Elena Astreyko, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Chair of General Physics and Teaching Methodology, reported on “Changes in education program “Physics” developed for secondary schools”.

Marina Martinovich, Physics teacher, Mozyr School No. 1, reported on “Electronic learning resources use in Physics lessons: enhancement of training efficiency”.

Victor Silich, Physics teacher, Mozyr School No. 1, reported on “District and Region academic competition in Astronomy: final results”.

During the seminar some questions of present interest were discussed: complicacy of training in Physics, aspects of training, methodological approach to correction and prevention of widespread mistakes, effective experience of electronic learning resource, interactive whiteboard use in Physics lessons.
