On March 24, 2016 International Science and Research Conference-Workshop “Development of social workers’ professional competence: problems, tendencies, perspectives” was held at the premises of MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin. Experts in social and pedagogical work, teachers and students took part in the conference.
Iryna Zhurlova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, reported on “Inclusive education and socialization of students with special needs: international experience”; much attention was paid to inclusion in Germany, Hungary, Austria and Italy.
Tatsiana Andrievskaya, school counselor, State Educational Establishment “Mozyr Youth Art Center”, reported on specifics of the center's operation and fields of concern (work with disabled children, exceptional children, troubled teenagers).
Elena Marinenko, Chairman of Mozyr District Organization “Belarusian Red Cross Society”, told about activity areas, social campaigns and other important project held at the premises of the center.
Natalia Yuschenko, Chief of Mozyr Community-Based Social Service Centre, reported on “Socialization of People with special needs under the conditions of patients' temporary stay departments”. Care recipients took part in the workshop; they showed creative works, music and dancing performances.
People with special needs demand to be treated as a special case; their troubles have to be solved co-operatively and undelayably.
