Nowadays much attention is paid to inclusive education in modern learning environment. International projects are opened in order to develop scientific and theoretical database for further investigations. Since 2014 Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P.Shamyakin has been participating in the Joint European Project “Initial and Further Training for Teachers and Educational Managers with regard to Diversity”. This project is known world-wide; thousands of participants from Russian Federation, Ukraine, Germany, Austria, Italy and Finland are fully engaged in it.
On July 01-09, 2015 two prominent members of MSPU teaching personnel Irina Zhurlova (Pedagogics Chair) and Natalia Sharinets (Practical Psychology and Speech Therapy Chair) took part in career enhancement trainings and science & research conference “Inclusive Education in International Comparison” in the University of Vienna (Austria).
The concents of the conference involved lectures and seminars on topical issues of inclusive education. Basic aspects of the subject matter were covered in such reports as “Education from the inside and Inclusion” (Judith't Gilde, Msc), “Diversity and Inclusion” (Prof. Mag. Dr. Eva Vetter), “Inclusion in Austria. New Programmes and Teaching Methods” (Univ.-Prof. Dr. Gottfried Biewer), “Methods of Work with Deaf Students” (Mag. Eva Theresa Böhm). The work was organized and presented in the form of discussions, workshops, inform-digests and interactive conversations.
Participants shared their viewpoints on the main problems of inclusion and methods of work with children-immigrants, youngsters- refugees, gifted children and children with special needs. It was stated that the main objective of a school teacher who trains such individuals was to identify cultural and religious differences, to minimize the level of stress and inconvenience.
Representatives of the leading educational establishments and centers acceded to the conversation and gave others the benefit of their own experience. The following universities maintained a scientific dialogue and helped to make a contribution to international pedagogical science: University of Vienna (Austria), University of Hildesheim (Germany), St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate Education (Russia), Yaroslav-the Wise Novgorod University (Russia), Khmelnitsky National University (Ukraine), Vitebsk State University named after P.M.Masherov (Belarus), Academy of Post Graduate Education (Belarus), Mozyr State Pedagogical University (Belarus).
