Curator Competence Workshop

On October 9, 2015 Competence Development Workshop “Curator as a Key Element in the Higher Education System” was held. The main objective of the workshop was to introduce higher-education teaching personnel to specific aspects of curator activity, crime and suicide prevention at the university.
Deputy Deans for Ideology, curators, representatives of Mozyr Psychiatry and Neurology Center, Priest of St. Nicolay Temple (Mozyr) were invited to participate in the conversation.
Svetlana Matveeva, Chief of Ideology Department, made aware of statutory and regulatory acts, conceptual approaches to educational process at the university. Much attention was paid to actual methods of documentation execution.
Olga Medvedeva, Psychotherapeutist, covered such a topical issue as suicide among young people, gave statistical data on suicide in Belarus, educed main causes and general aspects of suicidal behavior. Tips of how to prevent suicide were offered by the skilled professional.
Continuing the topic Sergy Shevchenko, Priest, covered the issue from Christianity and Orthodox Church perspective.
At the end of the workshop, the winners of universitywide contest “Best MSPU Curator” were awarded. Larisa Schetsko, Philology Department (1st place), Ekaterina Mihaylova, Preschool and Elementary Department (2nd place), Ludmila Glebova, Physical Education Department (3rd place) became the nominees of the contest.
“The best curator” is a responsible mission. Professional Skill Competition 2015 proved that representatives of MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin deserved to be curators of academic student groups.
