The theme of the session: ‘Notions of “Friendship” and “Friend” in paremi of different languages of the world’ participants got acquainted with the stable expressions (proverbs, sayings, idioms) about friendship in European languages, and also analysed the semantics of stable expressions with the lexeme ‘friend’ in different languages (Belarusian, Russian, French, English, etc.).

Our university was represented by Grib Daria (3rd year, 3rd group), who made a report ‘National-cultural features of German and Belarusian phraseological expressions’, and Milanich Alina (3rd year, 3rd group) with a report ‘Comparative structural and semantic analysis of English and Russian phraseological expressions with the meaning “friendship”. The students analysed the internal structure and semantics of these phraseological expressions, the influence of etymology on the perception and interpretation of stable expressions, as well as studied their national-cultural component.

Such joint events contribute to the development and popularisation of student science, as well as cooperation between partner universities.
