"MY HOMELAND IS BELARUS IN PERSONS. HONOURED NAMES IN SCIENCE AND EDUCATION"

Within the framework of the "STEP" project, students of the 9th grade of secondary school No. 14 in Mozyr on the basis of which the branch of the Department of Technological Education operates visited the Faculty of Technology and Biology and discussed the topic "My homeland is Belarus in persons. Honoured names in Science and Education".

An open dialogue was held at the faculty with the head of the Department of Technological Education Sergey Yakovlevich Astreiko and the head of the Department of Technological Education Natalia Mikhailovna Shestak. Schoolchildren were interested not only to communicate with well-known scientists, but also to see educational laboratories, to get acquainted with the conditions in which the educational process of students studying in the specialties of technological and biological specialism takes place, to ask questions and get detailed and accessible answers to them. A master class in Fine Arts was organized for schoolchildren, which allowed them to try their hand at the creative process of choosing and using various painting techniques, and an open lesson of the Biochem scientific-research of study group, where interesting chemical experiments were shown.

CAREER GUIDANCE IN ZHLOBIN

As part of the implementation of the Plan for Career Guidance Activities in the Gomel Region, agreed with the Main Department of Education of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, on February 2, 2024, the Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Biology Elena Vladimirovna Tikhonova and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Technological Education Sergey Nikolaevich Gladky held an information and career guidance meeting with students of specialized classes of pedagogical orientation of the Zhlobin district on the basis of school No. 11 in Zhlobin.

The meeting was attended by more than 50 students from 5 educational institutions, on the basis of which specialized groups of pedagogical orientation operate.

FIND YOURSELF IN MUSIC

3rd year students of the Faculty of Philology majoring in Foreign Languages (English, German) presented a theatrical performance "Find yourself in music". They created within the framework of the discipline "Discursive Practice". The project turned out to be rich and bright: performance of musical compositions, exchange of opinions and impressions, discussions about genres and styles. Each participant revealed the most significant direction for himself: rock, rap, K-pop and classics.

Students of the 2nd year of the 3rd group of the specialty "Foreign Languages (English, German)" chose the authors of the books they would like to talk about: different worlds, talented writers Lucinda Riley and Agatha Christie - names that are familiar to millions of readers around the world. One of them immerses us in complex psychological mysteries and intrigues, revealing the depths of the human soul, and the other offers exciting detective mysteries in which every detail matters. Both writers create a unique atmosphere in their works and make us worry about the characters, live every moment in the plot and solve riddles with them.

Within the framework of the discipline "Reading" under the guidance of the senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages and the Institute of Foreign Languages I.N. Gutsko, students showed a role-playing game, staging a series of books "The Seven Sisters" by the British writer Lucinda Riley, and stories by Agatha Christie, about detectives Hercule Poirot ("The A.B.C. Murders", "Hallowe'en Party") and Miss Marple ("4:50 from Paddington", "The Murder at the Vicarage").
