As part of a social partnership initiative in the education system, an unusual meeting took place at the Faculty of Preschool and Primary Education.
The advisory session, dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle, took the form of an active dialogue. First-year students were visited by Viktoria Borisovna Isaenko, a psychologist at the state institution “Mozyr Regional Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology.”
The meeting was not based on boring lectures, but on lively conversation and collaborative activities. Viktoria Borisovna began the discussion with alarming statistics and the psychological aspects of addiction. The speaker paid special attention to a modern threat—the popularity of vapes and e-cigarettes among young people. The students learned why marketing claims about “safe vaping” are a dangerous misconception, and what real consequences this habit has for the respiratory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems.
The highlight of the event was an interactive workshop on collage-making. The first-year students divided into creative groups. Armed with drawing paper, glue, scissors, and colorful illustrations, future educational psychologists and social educators created informational anti-smoking posters. However, the main focus was on debunking myths about e-cigarettes.
The university’s collaboration with the Mozyr Regional Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology allows us to take preventive work to a new level. A visit from a professional psychologist is not a formal conversation, but an opportunity to obtain firsthand reliable information and tools for maintaining health.
