TEACHER: IS IT A MISSION OF LIFE OR JUST A PROFESSION?

On November 21, 2018 administration of Philology Department conducted a workshop for bachelor degree students “Teacher: is it a mission of life or just a profession?” Galina Shanina and Victor Harin, acting as the veterans of teaching profession, honorary workers of education, and Victoria Klimenko, Deputy Director for Educational Affairs at Secondary School No. 7 at Mozyr, met 2nd-4th year students from Philology Department.

Galina Shanina shared her experience in teaching with the students and told the students what projects for enhancement of patriotic spirit could be conducted at secondary schools. Much attention was paid to the first steps in teaching profession. Being a teacher of History for many years, Victor Harin presented his viewpoint on what qualities a modern teacher of History must have. Victoria Klimenko told what types of activities for non-experienced teachers were conducted at the premises of Secondary School No.7 in Mozyr. Much attention was focused on social and psychological adaptation of teachers to specific way of work implemented at the premises of secondary schools. The students who attended the workshop evaluated it as a valuable affair.
