5TH TUROV EDUCATIONAL EPARCHIAL READINGS

On October 26, 2018 5th Turov Educational Eparchial Readings “Young people: freedom and responsibility” were held at the premises of Philology Department. The following prominent spiritual individual leaders greeted the audience during the plenary meeting i.e. Tatsiana Symanovich, Dean of Philology Department; Igumen the Father Superior, superior of Saint-Birth-the Blessed Virgin Monastery in agro-town Yurovichi, Head of the Department for Religious Education, Catechetesis, Missionary work at Turov Eparchy.

While speaking to the audience Tatsiana Symanovich singled out that the cooperation established between MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin and Turov Eparchy was fruitful for many years and in 2018 Innovation center for spiritual - moral and civil-patriotic education with regard to Orthodox background of the Belarusian people was opened at the premises of the Chair of History and Social disciplines. The main objective of the center was the development of fundamental and applied research in the field of Belarusian heritage, its investigation and inclusion of the results into the educational process.

There were several platforms arranged for the participants of the readings where the following topics were discussed: “History of Orthodox in the Belarusian lands”, “Human nature and reasons for being”, “Christian values in modern educational process”, “Youth policy in the Russian Orthodox Church”, “Enhancement of Civic consciousness and Patriotism through education of young people and development of Orthodox in ethic doctrine”, “Preschool education”.

1st year – 3rd year students of Philology Department participated in the round table discussion where the following topic was discussed i.e. “Religion and Young people”. Savva the Father Superior conducted a friendly talk with the students and told them about merit in Christianity, values in modern society and reasons for being.
