On October 02, 2018 there was a ceremony devoted to a newly opened center for spiritual-moral and civil-patriotic education based on orthodox traditions of the Belarusians functioning at the premises of MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin. The center was opened and supported by the Turov eparchy.

Valentin Valetov, Rector of MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Honorary worker of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Honorary professor of MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin, welcomed the guests as well as Avksenty the hegumen, Reverend Father, Head of Religious Education, Catechetesis and Missionary work at the Turov eparchy.

Valentin Valetov said that those days The Church and the University focused their attention to the enhancement of morality and patriotism.

The main objectives of the center are the following ones:

- to develop fundamental and applied research in the field of spiritual heritage of the Belarusians and integration new knowledge into MSPU educational process;

- to develop science and methodology supply for teaching and provide secondary schools with the data base of an extracurricular course “Fundamentals of Orthodox Christian Culture”;

- to introduce innovative, research and science activity devoted to spiritual and moral, civil and patriotic education;

- to enhance historical and religious country studies.

All the mentioned above factors will allow a modern teacher to solve the problems which are closely connected with new tendencies in education and ideology of the Republic of Belarus and it will allow the university to integrate “University 3.0” model.
