UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION AND STUDENTS’ CORE GROUP: NEW LEVEL OF DISCOURSE

On June 11, 2018 enlarged session of MSPU students’ committee was held at the premises of MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin. The following representatives of University authorities were present at the session i.e. Nikolay Lebedev, First Vice-Rector, Sergey Shchur, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Svetlana Matveeva, Head of Youth Office, Natalia Borisenko, Head of the Department for Planning and Finance, Victoria Borisenko, Deputy Secretary of Social Association “Belarusian Youth Union”, Victor Strukov, Chairman of MSPU Students’ Trade Committee, Olga Shubovskaya, Head nurse.
The main objective of the session was to conduct an open dialogue with the University administration, to inform the students about achievements of the university, to ask the questions and discuss the problems. The atmosphere of the meeting was friendly and warm. It helped the students not to be shy and talk to the authorities. The students were curious about the work of dean’s offices, work of the universities’ canteens, payments for the lessons students usually missed, etc.
At the end of the session the active members of the student council who participated in volunteer projects were granted with honorary diplomas and souvenirs.
It is important to mention that there is a great social and practical meaning of student self-administration. It means that the students must take up an active position and be responsible for future profession, enhance cultural and moral self-fulfillment, participate in active life of the university.
Skills to render decisions, take responsibility and conduct talks will help MSPU students be full members of our society.
