ENGLISH TEACHER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

On March 19 – 23, 2018 the 35-hour CiVELT course for ESP university teachers within English for Engagement and Employability – English Teacher Development Programme was conducted at the premises of Minsk State Linguistic University; chief organizers – representatives of British Council in Ukraine.

The following topics were involved into the programme:

1)Key principles of an ESP approach;

2)Language learning in ESP; the role of the ESP learner’s profile and needs analyses; motivation and positive ESP classroom interaction; using learners context as resources

3)Materials in ESP; implications for practice in the ESP classroom.

 

Working language – English.

24 English teachers from Belarusian universities got a lucky chance to enhance their proficiency while participating in the programme. Marina Kachur, Head Teacher, Chair of Foreign Languages and Foreign Languages Teaching Methodology, represented MSPU named after I.P. Shamyakin.
