First of all, the innovations affected the change in the timing of the organization and conduct of the CE and CT. Combining the terms of the CT and the CE will ensure the optimization of the initial stage of the admission campaign and will create equal conditions for applicants taking the CE and CT.
The updated admission rules provide for more preferential grounds for different categories of applicants. The conditions for admission have been improved for the winners of international Olympiads, creative competitions, international sports competitions, applicants who have a certificate of general secondary education with a gold (silver) medal or a diploma of secondary specialized education with honors, when entering regional institutions of higher education, which is very important for us.
The University Olympiad, which was held for the first time in 2023 and according to the results of which 19 applicants, holders of diplomas of I, II, III degrees, were enrolled without entrance exams to our university, proved its effectiveness. In 2024, almost 400 participants were registered for the university Olympiad. A positive point is the expansion this year of the list of academic subjects in which the Olympiad is held, and the list of specialties for enrolling its winners.
At Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P.Shamyakin, special attention is paid to the admission of applicants for higher education on the terms of agreements on targeted training of specialists. An increased target admission quota of up to 60%, as well as a simplified model of the admission campaign, contributed to a 37% increase in targeted enrollment figures in 2023. The priority area of activity of our university is the training of teachers for the education system of the Gomel region and the country as a whole. The university is interested in admitting not only motivated, but also prepared applicants, so we consider it necessary to introduce a lower threshold of the average score of the education document not lower than 7.0 (with the exception of the specialties most in demand in the economy). A feature of the admission of applicants on the terms of targeted training in 2024 will be the possibility of admission by competition among individual customer organizations, if the competition for this specialty as a whole did not take place.
In the Year of Quality, these extremely important innovations will contribute to the development of the system of admission of applicants to higher education institutions of the Republic of Belarus on the basis of equal and transparent conditions.
