VIII INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE "SHAMYAKIN READINGS: WRITER – PERSONALITY – TIME"

On April 19, 2024, the International Shamyakin Readings were held at Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakin.

A dean of the Faculty of Philology, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences T.N. Symanovich emphasized the relevance of the problem field of the conference, the importance of the work of Ivan Petrovich Shamyakin in the formation of moral values and universal human qualities of the younger generation. "Past, present and future – only through the prism of kindness" – it was this quote by Ivan Petrovich that marked the Literary Week with international participation, within the framework of which the conference "Shamyakin Readings: Writer – Personality – Time" was held.

The beginning of the conference was announced by I.O. Kovalevich, First Vice-Rector, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor. Irina Olegovna noted that the 2024 scientific conference can rightfully be called the International Scientific Forum. The organizing committee received more than 70 applications for participation from professors, associate professors, subject teachers, young scientists from Belarus, Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Romania, Israel, Northern Cyprus, Germany. Irina Olegovna also emphasized the high scientific level of the reports of the conference participants, well-known scientists V. I. Koval, V. V. Shura, O. I. Revutsky, S. B. Kurash, the importance of such events for the university and the pedagogical community of Belarus.

Tatyana Ivanovna Shamyakina is a Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Theoretical and Slavic Literary Studies of the Belarusian State University, addressed the participants of the conference with a welcome address. She dedicated heartfelt and warm words to Ivan Petrovich Shamyakin, the national writer of Belarus, a loving father, a man of unique ability to work and kindness of heart. Tatyana Ivanovna expressed her gratitude to the university administration, the Department of Belarusian and Russian Philology for their constant attention to the personality and work of Ivan Petrovich Shamyakin.

T.N. Chechko is a Head of the Department of Belarusian and Russian Philology, drew attention to the fact that today the International Shamyakin Readings are the culmination of a large-scale educational project with master classes, online meetings, seminars; with teacher and student initiatives; joint events with foreign partner universities.

The Department of Belarusian and Russian Philology expresses its sincere gratitude to all participants of the International Scientific Conference "Shamyakin Readings: Writer – Personality – Time".
