On the eve of the New Year, Mozyr became a venue for the Republican social and cultural project “Marathon of Unity”, within the framework of which for the first time in Mozyr a collection of books presented to the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko by the heads of states of the near and far abroad, statesmen and cultural figures of various countries was demonstrated. The unique collection is housed at our university. Not only students, but also residents of the region had an opportunity to get acquainted with the exclusive exhibits of the exhibition, which was brought to Mozyr by representatives of the National Library of Belarus.

Vadim Frantsevich Gigin, Director General of the National Library of Belarus, became the guest of honour of the university that day. He not only presented the exhibition, but also spoke about the significance of each book in the context of cultural and political relations of our country with other countries.

During the meeting with students and teachers Vadim Frantsevich presented the rector of the university Valery Navnyko with a gift - a certificate for 100 copies of socially important editions. He also emphasised the importance of the material and spiritual value of books, their ability to pass on the knowledge and experience of previous generations.

The editions presented to the university will undoubtedly be in demand by students and teachers, will become a source of studying the history and culture of our country. You can get acquainted with the collection of books donated to the university by the National Library of Belarus in the reading room of the library (auditorium No. 311) till the end of the year.
