DISCUSSION OF THE ISSUES OF PRESERVING THE HISTORICAL MEMORY OF THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR AT THE MEETING OF THE SLL "COURAGE"

On April 17, 2024, within the framework of the Week of Youth Science, an open meeting of the research laboratory "Courage" was held (academic adviser: Associate Professor of the Department of History and Social Science Disciplines, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Barsuk E.E.). Employees of the Zonal State Archives of Mozyr and history students of the 1st and 2nd courses of the Faculty of Philology were invited to the meeting.
Issues of preserving the historical memory of the people and the possibility of research work with archival documents were discussed.
Head of the Department of Information and Use of Documents Domashkevich Elena Valentinovna spoke about the history of the archive, its tasks and areas of activity, the content of archival funds, and the rules for working with documents. Currently, the archive contains about 300 thousand documents, including materials on the history of the Great Patriotic War and newspapers for 1944-1945.
As an example of research work on the history of Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakin, the archivist of the first category of the Department of Information and Use of Documents Yulia Mikhailovna Suponenko made a presentation on the history of the creation and activities of the university from 1944 to the present on the basis of archival documents.
Students got acquainted with various opportunities for studying the history of their native land on the basis of archival funds.
