The new academic year started in Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakin! The event started with the ceremony of raising the State Flag of the Republic of Belarus. Valery Navnyko, the Rector of the University, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech and congratulations. He congratulated the teaching staff on the beginning of the academic year, urged the students to make maximum efforts and efforts in order to become professionals in the future, wished them positive emotions and successful participation in scientific, cultural and sports life of the University.

In a solemn atmosphere were awarded diplomas and commendations of Mozyr State Pedagogical University and the primary trade union organisation of the university to teachers and students.

Congratulations and warm wishes were expressed by the guests of honour: Dmitry Bondarev, Head of the Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of Mozyr District Executive Committee, Natalia Valentinovna Sazonova, Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Regional Organisation of the Belarusian Professional Union of Education and Science Workers, Voskan Haykazovich Chobanyan, a well-known public figure and patron of the arts, and Priest Vitaly Lekhnovich, a representative of the Turov Diocese.

Since 2024 the competition for the award of Voskan Haykazovich Chobanyan, Director of ‘Nelly’ Limited Liability Company, public figure and philanthropist, Honorary Citizen of Mozyr, for students with achievements in scientific, social and sports activities has been approved. The first four scholarship holders received deserved prizes.

Traditionally, the first-year students were presented with the symbols of student life: the Key of Knowledge and Student Card. Karolina Rabetskaya, a student of the Faculty of Technology and Biology, who scored a record 340 points according to the results of the admission campaign, accepted these symbols of a rich student life from the hands of Alexander Klimovich, a graduate of the University.

May the new academic year be happy and productive for both students and teachers. May it bring a lot of pleasure, high successes, great achievements, cheerful events, unusually interesting classes, smiles and joy. Health to you, strength, excellent mood and great prospects!
