On 18-19 October 2012, the students of Physico-Mathematical Faculty of “Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakin” took part in the All-Russian Olympiad on elementary and higher mathematics with the international participation of students of pedagogical universities and universities carrying out training of future teachers of mathematics.
The Olympiad was held online by Ural State Pedagogical University (Russia, Yekaterinburg) in two phases: the Olympiad on elementary mathematics was held on October 18, the Olympiad on higher mathematics was conducted on October, 19. Each university was represented there by two teams, consisting of 4 members. In the Olympiad on higher mathematics our university was represented by Alexey Logwin, Vasiliy Petrushenko, Olga Veko, Anna Tukach; on elementary mathematics - by Larissa Aktimirova , Igor Romaniuk, Tatiana Lemeza and Alexey Yasko.
The competition was attended by students from 11 Institutions of Education of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine (Kurganov State University, Mozyr State Pedagogical University, Persm State Pedagogical University, Shadrinsk State Pedagogical University, Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University, Bashkir State University , Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University).
In the Olympiad on higher mathematics the prize-winning places were taken by the graduating students of Physico-Mathematical Faculty of “Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakin”: the 1st place - Olga Veko, the 2nd place - Alexey Logvin, the 3rd place -Vasiliy Petrushenko.
The Winner of the Olympiad in the team competition is determined by the sum of the best points scored by three teams participating in the Olympiad on higher and elementary mathematics. Thus, in the team competition, our team took the 2nd place.
Traditionally, preparation of students for competition on mathematics is engaged by the associate professor of mathematical analysis sub department, Candidate of Mathematical Sciences Fedor Danilovich Korshkov. It should be noted that this is not the first time of achieving a high output by the circle on solving of Olympiad tasks, managed by F.D. Korshkov. Thus, in 2010 and 2011, the students were also among the best results of the All-Russian Olympiad with international participation in mathematics.
Our sincere congratulations to our students on their victory and may they achieve further creative success!
