RESEARCH AND METHODOLOGICAL SEMINAR “MODERN TECHNIQUES USED IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES TEACHING”

        On December 05, 2018 research and methodology seminar “Modern techniques used in foreign languages teaching” was conducted by the Chair of Foreign Languages and Foreign Language Teaching Methodology. MSPU bachelor degree students, Master’s Degree students, PhD students participated in the seminar and shared their experience in English teaching techniques. Representatives of Secondary schools (branches of the Chair) also participated in the seminar.

The main objective of the seminar was to focus attention on innovative techniques in foreign languages teaching, fruitful conditions and best results, conducting inter-subject communications, enhancement of methodological training of bachelor degree students and secondary school teachers on their way to enhancement of methodological knowledge, skills and competence.

MSPU students recited poems in English and German, delivered the reports, conducting master-classes and a round-table discussion.

Irina Kovalevich, acting as a Head of the Chair, greeted the participants and said that the cooperation “Student-Tutor-Teacher” must have been developed. Audrone Sokolova, 1st year student, recited a classical masterpiece «Gefunden» by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Valentina Dubrovskaya, 2nd year student, recited a poem «Self-congratulations» by Anne Brontë, Eduard Kolos recited «Bewaffneter Friede» by Heinrich Christian Wilhelm Busch. The following teachers gave their reports on the topics: Elena Zinovenko, an English teacher (Grammar School in Kalinkovichi), Marina Kachur, a Head Teacher (MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin), Elena Kovaleva, Associate Professor (MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin), Anna Klabuck, an English teacher (Secondary School No.15 in Mozyr), Tamara Kulesh, an English teacher (Secondary School No 7 in Kalinkovichi), Lubov Puzan, Associate Professor (MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin), Ekaterina Zhiznevskaya, a 4th year student (MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin).

Svetlana Nezhikova, a German teacher (Secondary School No. 15 in Mozyr) conducted a Master-class on the topic “Methods of mood and emotions selfconsciousness used at the lessons of foreign languages”.

At the end of the discussion a round table discussion on the topic “Modern learning and teaching supply for foreign language studies” where the participants discussed perspectives of scientific cooperation and implementation of practice-oriented approach when teaching foreign languages. It is also important to mention that close cooperation established between the Chair of Foreign Languages and the Branches has influenced positively on research activities and achievements.

As Irina Kovalevich mentioned that the seminars of this type helped to keep the succession of the generations, exchange the experience and enhance professional competence.
