CHERNOBYL.LIFE AFTER DEATH

cher130 years has already passed since the reactor blew up. Chernobyl disaster is supposed to be the largest catastrophe ever. Why did it happen? What did it cause? What is true? What is lie?

3rd year students majoring in “English. German” with the assistance of Iryna Gutsko, Head Teacher, Chair of English and English Language Methodology, carried out a project on “Global Ecological Problems” and tried to find the answers.

As the students said it wasn’t difficult to find the information, it was troublesome to organize the material and present it within the time limits properly. The participants of the project were acting parts of chemists, doctors, witnesses, liquidators, sarcophagus builders, etc. Video records on consequences of the catastrophe and ecological situation in the harmed territory were shown; slideshow on how Pripyats had been changed after Chernobyl disaster was presented. A thematic display stand was set up; pictures depicting the locus of the accident, emergency containment, diseases caused by Chernobyl disaster were demonstrated.
