What type of teachers should work in “Pedagogical classes”? Advanced training program

On January 14 – 18, 2019 advanced training program “Methodological and Psychological-Pedagogical approaches to teaching a specialized extra-curriculum course “Introduction to Teaching profession”” was held in Gomel at the premises of State Educational Establishment “Gomel Regional Institute of the Development of Education”; focus group – school teachers.
Helen Astreyko, PhD in Pedagogics, Associate Professor, was invited by the administration of State Educational Establishment “Gomel Regional Institute of the Development of Education” to conduct lectures.
The attendees were to get acquainted with the “image” of a modern teacher.
Thus, any “image” involves several components:
Component 1 – “Objective or scientific beginning”;
Component 2 – “Implicit beginning” which was formed under the influence of everyday life and people’s needs;
Component 3 – “Subjective viewpoint” which bears emotional and estimative attitude and reasons which are based on individual and personal experience.
If there is a need to speak about general perception of an ideal teacher it is important to pay attention to a traditional role which a teacher has to perform. In this vein art plays an important role in creation of a teacher and this aim is achieved through mass media. These views are revealed in such characteristics as “clever”, “kind”, “attentive”, “fair”, “tactful”, “who is able to give knowledge”, “careful”, etc.
Topicality of this idea is proved by multiple types of research in Psychology and Pedagogics which were conducted with the aim to enhance the image of a modern teacher.
The lessons were arranged in a democratic way. The attendees were provided with available and useful data about development of the image of a modern teacher, approaches to work with school children.
The representatives of the chair of Pedagogics and Psychology, MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin, express their deepest gratitude to State Educational Establishment “Gomel Regional Institute of the Development of Education” for a great chance to participate in the advanced training program.
