OCCUPATIONAL GUIDANCE FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS AT MSPU NAMED AFTER I.P.SHAMYAKIN

On December 15, 2018 representatives of the Chair of Russian and Belarusian Philology arranged an occupational guidance affair for prospective philology students “Position of Russian and Russian Literature in Modern Social and Cultural Environment”. Tatsiana Chechko, the Head of the Chair of Belarusian and Russian Philology, together with Irina Sudibor, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, and Olga Sergushkova, Associate Professor, conducted this affair. 64 pupils from Secondary Schools from Kalinkovichi and Mozyr took part in this affair.
Irina Sudibor greeted the prospective students, told them what bachelor degree programs the University offered, lectured about the History of the University and development strategies of the Philology Department today. Irina Sudibor also said about great possibilities for talented students who had great capacity for research, active life and creativity.
Tatsiana Chechko said the bachelor degree program “Russian and Russian Literature. Foreign Language (English)” is a program which will allow students to find their place on the labour market i.e. Mass media, governing boards, establishments of culture, education, etc.
MSPU students who major in Linguistics also participated in the affair and prepared a creative performance for the guests.
After the performance all the guests and organizers visited Center for Russian Studies where everybody got a lucky chance to see the books devoted to Art, Culture, World History, etc.
Ksenia Katryuk, a Philology student, presented a special monologue where much attention was paid to Philology and its role in the modern world.
The meeting of teachers and pupils was conducted in a friendly atmosphere and brought joy to everybody who got a chance to see that Philology is a wonderful world of knowledge and inspiration.
