LIBERATION OF MOZYR FROM THE NAZI AGGRESSORS: 74TH ANNIVERSARY

On January 10 – 13, 2018 ceremonial events devoted to the 74th anniversary liberation of Mozyr from the Nazi aggressors were held at the premises of Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P.Shamyakin.

On January 12, 2018 a festive gathering was held at the burial mound of glory in Mozyr. War veterans, veterans of labor, city authorities, representatives of local industrial enterprises, members of voluntary organizations and youth non-governmental societies attended the gathering. MSPU administration, deans of the departments, heads of the structural units, PhD, Masters’ and Bachelor’s degree students participated in the gathering, too.

“One-minute silence” is known to be an essential part of any memorable events which are arranged in honour of war and those who passed. Before laying flowers in front of the monument all those who were present at the gathering honoured the memory of Mozyr’s heroes.

On January 12, 2017 university administration, members of working staff, representatives of university’s trade union committees visited Ekaterina Romanova, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War and an ex-member of university staff with the aim to congratulate her.

There is an eternal flame at the burial mound of glory in Mozyr. It resembles eternal light in people’s hearts and minds which will never stop because the acts of bravery these people conducted are unforgettable and have a great value.
