Research and methodology workshop “Inclusive tendencies in the system of special education”

On January 08, 2016 research and methodology workshop “Inclusive tendencies in the system of Higher education” was held at the premises of Educational establishment “Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P.Shamyakin”, Organizer - Chair of Practical Psychology and Defectology.

Administration and attendees of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining Department, teachers and students of Preschool and Elementary Education Department took part in the workshop. 

Liliya Ivanova, Chief of Practical Psychology and Defectology Chair, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor, opened the workshop. The report of L. Ivanova was devoted to inclusive education and its essential part in theory and practice of educational system of the Republic of Belarus. While developing basic principles of IE in the country researchers and administrative authority faced complicated problems and newly discovered tasks, which were discussed during the meeting.

Ekaterina Mihaylova, Head teacher, Practical Psychology and Defectology Chair, covered the question of contemporary state of special education in the Republic of Belarus and its principal particulars.

Natalia Zhludova, Deputy Dean of Competence-Based Center of Inclusive Education at MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin, Head Teacher, Master of Pedagogical Sciences, gave a report on legal – regulatory and psychological-pedagogical basics of transition from traditional special education to inclusive education in the Republic of Belarus (Order of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 401 by 24/09/2015 “About Signing a Convention about rights of the disabled”; Order of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus No. 608 by 22/07/2015 “Concept of Inclusive Education of people with special needs”).

Irina Sytko, Special education teacher, State Educational Establishment “Special Early Childhood Center No.30 for visually impaired children”, Head Teacher, Practical Psychology and Defectology Chair, shared her experience in creation of adaptive educational environment, it was evaluated as a key of inclusive education implementation in establishments of preschool education.

Stelchenko Irina, Head Teachers, Practical Psychology and Defectology Chair, analyzed topical issues of social development of children under conditions of mainstreaming.

Irina Karpovich, Head Teacher, Practical Psychology and Defectology Chair, Master of Psychological Sciences, covered the questions of personal vital capacity and health.

At the end of the workshop guests and lecturers took part in the round-table discussion and shared the views on how to improve and give correctional and training assistance to children with special needs under conditions of educational integration.
