In Honour of the Warriors of the Great War

On May 21, 2015 within the framework of IX International Research and Practice Conference (Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel) presentation of the book “Soldiers of Victory” was held; authors of the book - students of Philology Department, MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin. Recollections of participants of the Great Patriotic War, war workers and prisoners of war stockade were presented in the book.
Memories were collecting during 2014/2015 academic year by students – historians. The aim of the work was to preserve invaluable indications of Soviet people’s acts of moral courage and to involve students into voluntary service. The collection of memories “Soldiers of Victory” was published with financial support from Gomel Eparchy of Belarusian Orthodox Church.
After the official part of the visit students met Нis Grace Stephan. Future historians focused their attention to development of volunteer service in Mozyr, local history research at Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P.Shamyakin and educational mission of a modern teacher.
It was MSPU students and teachers' opinion that the meeting with the representatives of Gomel Eparchy left great impression gave a lucky chance to find answers students were looking for and consolidated the choice of their future career.
